Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University, Kishoreganj has been established in Kishoreganj district in the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with the special initiative of His Excellency the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Advocate Md. Abdul Hamid. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University, Kishoreganj Act 2020 (Act No. 17 of 2020, September 15, 2020) was enacted to establish the University.
