The Private University Act passed by the Parliament in 1992 and its amendment passed in 1998 empowered the Government and the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the establishment of Private Universities throughout the country. We established the Bangladesh Islami University (BIU), a private university with the proper approval from the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
