Khulna Development Authority

Khulna Development Authority is an autonomous service organization under the control of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works The organization was created on January 21, 1971, with the promise of planned urbanization and modern Khulna. Since its inception, the KDA Ordinance 1971 has empowered the organization to work on urban planning, development participation, and control of unplanned development. Apart from urban planning, KDA has made a significant contribution in building a modern and planned Khulna city. Development of a significant number of planned residential, commercial and industrial areas, construction of roads, construction of markets, construction of bus terminals, construction of community centers, construction of children's parks, etc. for the purpose of providing civic amenities such as a solution of housing problems, creation of commercial and economic facilities, traffic congestion and facilitation of communication Has successfully implemented over 50 public welfare projects. As a result, a new trend of urbanization has been created in the Khulna Master Plan area. In the light of the KDA Act 2018, KDA is working for the development of the people of the area covering 824 sq km (from Nawapara to Mongla) under its competent chairman, board members, and 259 manpower under 10 branches.

 

Bangladesh was born with the glorious history of a 9-month-long horrific liberation war for independence and sovereignty. Khulna is one of the most beloved cities to the mighty pathfinder of that victory, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. From 1942 to 1975, Bangabandhu visited Khulna 66 times. Khulna is associated with many loving memories of Bangabandhu, the dreamer of independent-sovereign golden Bangladesh. Today we are going to witness the success story of Khulna Development Authority (KDA) on developing modern Khulna.
