SHAKTI is the divine feminine power representing liberation. Shakti represents power, ability, capacity, strength, empowerment and all energy we use to manifest and create the life we want in all of its forms. Shakti is the foundation for a conscious life.
I grew up a lover; heart always wide open. When I design my work, it all comes down to matters of the heart and liberation. I've been making jewelry since I was young and have always sought inspiration and wisdom from other cultures for as long as I can remember. I think there is a lot that can be learned from the wisdom traditions and indigenous tribes from around the world. Their eye for adornment, their wisdom, their heart. It all shapes, moves, and inspires the work I do through Shakti.
I remember setting out to India in my 20’s after i finished Nursing School, and finding the most inspiration (what touches my heart in a deep way) in the Tibetan refugee settlements. There was something so deep and so rich about their culture. Something about the way they adorned themselves with meaning and symbolism touched me in a deep way. I was in India to study yoga, in theory, but what I’ve learned now is that I was really in India to connect with the rich culture, environment, and heritage to open a deeper part of myself. I’ve come to learn over the years, this is the Yoga, opening up a deeper part of me and allowing my creativity to blossom and grow.
