Shumi's Hot Cake
It was in 1981 when we realized that the culture of freshly baked gourmet cakes was missing in Bangladesh. At first, we introduced cakes as birthday gifts, but it soon became an integral part in parties and so did the name of Shumi’s Hot Cake. It’s strange now to imagine our first entry into the business world was with a whopping three-tier historical cake especially designed for weddings! Then, our little bakery started expanding quickly with massive orders flowing in. We wanted our dear customers to experience a wider range of cakes and decided to set up our first shop in 1991, at Dhanmondi. This was also the time when we came up with our most adored pastry: the Black Forest Delight, which has now become a national favourite. It’s still our favourite too btw! We had an exciting journey transforming a small family business into a preferred choice of every cake lover in Bangladesh. Everything that we have accomplished is thanks to our guiding principle – deep and true passion for baking. With international expertise and responsible workers, our cakes come freshly baked every day. We have 33 outlets across Dhaka and Chittagong Cities, serving over 100 types of sweet and savory items for all walks of customers. From a family of one to a million, we are proud and grateful every bake of the way.
